The Juiciest BBQ Chicken

This chicken is crispy on the outside, juicy and flavourful on the inside! We used our Le Steak Rub and Original Hot Sauce but you can switch up and experiment with all of our other Rubs and try Hot’R Hot Sauce if you want a bit more kick!

Total time 1 hour 25 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

1 whole roasting chicken (4-5 lbs approx.)
3 Tbsp Le Steak Rub
2 Tbsp Grapeseed oil

¼ cup Baru Hot Sauce (Original or Hot’R)
1 clove of garlic, minced
3-4 Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp freshly ground pepper

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat your grill so it is nice and toasty.

Butterfly your chicken and pat dry with paper towel or a clean dish cloth.
Coat the whole bird with Le Steak Rub and top with oil (grapeseed oil is what we used, but any oil with a high smoking point such as avocado oil works great!).

Mix the hot sauce, garlic, honey, soy sauce, and pepper in a small bowl.

Sear the chicken, skin side down, on the medium high grill until the fat renders down and the skin is crispy, approximately 15 minutes, the chicken should pull away from the grill easily, not stick.

Move the bird to indirect heat and continue cooking for another hour, basting throughout the cooking time with hot sauce mixture.

Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
